At first maybe it's little more than clean air, green grass, and a sandbox..
With time you put in see saws and monkey bars.. it's a beautiful park!
One day you may notice passersby being glad it's there.. but with so much foot traffic you begin to note a bit of litter and discarded items too..
You know they enjoy the park, but do they really appreciate it?
If you're smart, you'll take care of your park and before you know it, bright yellow trash cans appear and cameras go up..
Then.. love is like, if you're tiny little park.. gets CORPORATE SPONSORSHIP!!
You can feel the new energy, everything is a buzz..
You may have only agreed once, but it feels like everything is changing!
Sprawling sidewalks cover the green grass, but before you can mourn it, you notice how much more attention your park gets now!!
The old rides get new paint, and it blows your mind!! when they install the water slide!! (Here, in the desert?) It's so fun, you never want to stop..
You just know that the park will keep getting better sharing the management..
And if love works.. it does!!
Crews appear overnight to shake and pull and test every surface.. insurance is no laughing matter.. a park this popular could have kids..
Any sharp point is rounded off, and every safety taken.. sure the park feels more tame, but you understand the sense it makes..
If you do good, this could be the start of a franchise!
Oh how I wish the story ends there..
If Love does not work though.. It's like your park is condemned..
Your sponsor pulled out, and rude crews repo the slide.. you would have chained yourself too it!!
Jackhammers demolish the lovely sidewalk, and sledgehammers handle the rest, you're ole park is destroyed..
Tape visibly marks where people shouldn't go..
You'll want to try again, eventually, anyone would..
But building a park on beautiful green grass was so easy, so natural..
Now you see people avoiding the area..
Even if the crews are professional they only remove the large debris..
The grass will forever hold tiny pebbles and sharp rock to discourage future passersby getting comfortable..
You think of turning it into a parking lot, since it's so hard for people to enjoy it, maybe focus on function and not bringing joy, but use..
You imagine how many people a car wash would bring, but those people barely stay for five minutes..
You want to get that foot traffic back up, but you wonder if you'll miss the loyal feeling of the appreciative blissful parkgoer, with their hours to kill..
